The FSA became a member of the Committee on Integration, Trade and Customs Policy and the WTO of the RSPP
The work of the Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA) in the profile committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) will make it possible to more effectively participate in resolving issues of regulating international cooperation in fishery. The FSA representative in the committee on integration, trade and customs policy and the WTO will be its vice-president Sergey Karyakin.
Russia is actively fishing in areas where international treaties are in force. Within the framework of such agreements, in particular with Norway, Morocco and Japan, FSA participants catch significant volumes of various types of fish: cod and haddock, sardine, mackerel and others.
The recent initiative of the FSA to include in the amendments to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU CC) provisions on the recognition of fish caught in such areas and products from it as Russian goods was supported by the EEC expert group. The presence of such a provision in the EAEU CC will allow fishermen to avoid additional costs for import duties and advance VAT on imports.
