Fleet renewal as a factor in the growth of domestic fish consumption
The new fleet that fishermen are currently building under investment quotas allows them to offer products that meet modern consumer demands. Stanislav Aksenov, President of the Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA), emphasized this at the session "Efficiency of Government-Business Cooperation in Promoting Domestic Fish Products," organized by the Agency for the Promotion of Fishery Products at the International Fishery Forum on October 22.
Stanislav Aksenov noted that a modern vessel can process 100% of catch into fillets, surimi, and other types, allowing the market to offer a completely new level of product.
The head of the FSA explained that having a high-quality product, highly processed directly on board allows to optimize the production chain for the retail formats of ready-to-eat foods.
As a reminder, major market players are already uniting to create the best possible offer for Russian consumers. In particular, the Russian Fishery Company (a member of the FSA) was the first in the industry to directly supply products processed at sea to retail shelves.
