FSA proposed digitizing the assets of the fishing industry
At a meeting of the Public Council of the Federal Agency for Fisheries on March 24, Stanislav Aksyonov, President of the Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA), drew attention to the lack of a digital accounting system for industry assets, particularly fishing vessels (their number, distribution by basin, condition, etc.). Andrei Mikhalevich, Head of the Economics and Investment Department of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, agreed with the urgency of the issue.
Without access to complete data, it is impossible to objectively assess the current and future capabilities of the fleet and plan its long-term development.
While reviewing individual digitalization projects, the head of the ASRF drew attention to the economic risks and technical unpreparedness of the fleet for the mandatory implementation of audio and video recording systems on board. Andrey Mikhalevich confirmed this, emphasizing the need to address this issue in the future.
Considering the importance of thoroughly exploring issues related to various aspects of digitalization in the industry, the proposal of Public Council Chairman German Zverev to hold separate hearings on this topic was unanimously supported following the meeting.
