Fishermen congratulated TINRO on its centenary

On September 25, the Pacific branch of VNIRO (TINRO) celebrated an important historical date – the scientific center's centenary. As a reminder, TINRO's history began with the founding of the Pacific Scientific and Industrial Station (TONS) in 1925.

Congratulations from the Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA) and its member companies were conveyed by Vice President Alexey Osintsev, who presented a commemorative plaque symbolizing the beginning of a new century in TINRO's history.

This commemorative plaque is awarded when a new vessel is laid down. Today marks the beginning, or rather, the "laying down," of a new century in TINRO's history. Without a scientific center like TINRO, the Far East would not have a real assessment of our marine livestock, their conservation, and harvesting on the scale we have today.

In honor of TINRO's anniversary, Alexey Osintsev presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management to Alexey Baytalyuk, head of the research center, and a letter of gratitude to Alexander Bashtovy, head of the feed sector at the aquatic organism processing technology laboratory. Alexander was also awarded the FSA Certificate of Honor for his contribution to the development of the domestic fisheries industry and industry science.
