The average salary in fishing is twice the average for the Russian economy (83.7 thousand rubles), its growth compared to the same period last year was 8.1%.

Compared to the first three quarters of 2023, wages in fish processing increased by 19.6%.
The top 10 regions with the highest average monthly wages in fisheries include: the Republic of Karelia, Magadan Region, Murmansk Region, Khabarovsk Territory, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Territory, Arkhangelsk Region, Sakhalin Region, Primorsky Territory, and Kaliningrad Region. Together, these regions account for more than 90% of all aquatic biological resources caught in the country. In each of the top 10 regions, wages in fisheries are higher than the regional average: 1.4 to 3.8 times.
Wages in fisheries have consistently been among the highest among sectors of the Russian economy throughout the entire period for which data are reflected in Rosstat (since 2017). This is due to the expeditionary shift nature of work in the difficult conditions of marine fishing.
