Export revenue from Russian fish supplies to China, 7 months of 2026

Pollock exports to China increased by 21% in volume terms year-on-year in the first seven months of 2026, while their value increased by more than 50% (+62.5%, from $497 million to $807.9 million).
Cod shipments increased by 23%, while export revenue nearly doubled (+78%, from $254.9 million to $454.2 million).
Haddock exports showed revenue growth even with declining volumes: shipment volumes decreased by 13% (from 15,800 tons to 13,800 tons), while value increased by almost a quarter (+23%, from $76 million to $93.5 million).
Growth was also noted in highly processed whitefish products. Exports of pollock, cod, and haddock fillets to China increased by 8% in volume (from 4,300 tons to 4,600 tons) and by 29% in value (from $9.5 million to $12.2 million).
The estimated average unit value increased by approximately 34% for pollock, 45% for cod, and 41% for haddock.
Live crab exports also showed year-on-year growth—up 17% in weight (from 21,100 tons to 24,600 tons) and 27% in value (from $551.2 million to $698.6 million). Frozen crab shipments increased by more than a third (+39%, from 2,700 tons to 3,800 tons) and doubled in value, from $41.8 million to $84 million.
